All-Star Showdown | Improvised Game Show (7:30pm) / Late Night House Party | Improvised Show (9:30pm)

The All-Star Showdown

A highly interactive improvised game show.

With suggestions from the audience, our two teams will battle for your laughs. The Showdown is like "Whose Line is it Anyway," featuring a series of short improv games, challenges, and more.

Late Night House Party

A looser, bolder improvised show.

Late Night House Party is a great hang with Michigan’s top improv comedians. It combines short-form game-style improv with totally improvised scene work based on your suggestions. This show is loose, the vibes are edgy, and the drinks are flowing.

Recommended for adult audiences.

Asher Perlman: Back to the Drawing Board | Multi Media Comedy Show (7:30pm)

Asher Perlman: Back to the Drawing Board

A night of comedy, cartoons, and more

With very special guest: Adam Peacock (“I Think You Should Leave”)

Asher Perlman is an Emmy-nominated, Peabody Award-winning comedian, New Yorker cartoonist, Television writer, and bestselling author based in Brooklyn. Until recently, he was a writer/performer on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where he famously couldn’t dunk a basketball. Now he’s unemployed and taking his show on the road with his unique blend of standup comedy and cartoons. Here are some nice things that cool people have said about Asher:

“Asher Perlman’s cartoons are the kind of funny that make you question what it is to be a person, but in a good way.”
-Ben Stiller

“Asher's cartoons are just like him: very funny, keenly attuned to the inherent strangeness of existence and very, very bald.”
-Stephen Colbert

“The profane amount of whimsy is only matched by the obscene level of hilarity. PERLMAN IS MEDDLING IN GOD’S DOMAIN.”
-Patton Oswalt

"I find myself wanting to live in the worlds Asher creates, until I realize they're not too far from the one I'm in (I own several genies). Asher Perlman is still my favorite cartoonist/modern day Sisyphus."
-Bowen Yang

Detroit Improv Festival | A Night of Local & National Improv Troupes (7:00pm) / (9:00pm)

Wednesday 7pm Show

Improv Nerds, Awkward Besties, Shallow Water Blackout, and Super Scaries

Improv Nerds (Detroit, MI) The Improv Nerds are thrilled to return to the Detroit Improv Festival this year! The troupe features The Detroit Creativity Project Youth Advisors and their coaches.

Awkward Besties (Detroit, MI) A socially questionable cluster of professionally awkward friends from Metro Detroit.

Shallow Water Blackout (Grand Rapids, MI) High-energy, satisfying, and always unexpected. Pack your floaties, because there’s no toe dipping with Shallow Water Blackout. Our callbacks go deep. Our collective wit is as wet as a lifeguard’s whistle. Our Yes-and-ing harmonies reverberate like storied sea sirens from the murky abyss. You know…in a good way.

Super Scaries (Chicago, IL) Super Scaries: The Improvised Horror Musical is back - and more terrifying than ever. Super Scaries presents a completely made-up narrative musical that conjures an entirely new nightmare each night - never seen before, never to be seen again. The cast crafts a chilling tale from one audience suggestion of an ordinary object that turns out to be anything but. A cursed hairbrush that steals your best friend. A radio that won’t stop whispering your name. A key that unlocks something best left closed. Equal parts terror and hilarity, Super Scaries is a darkly funny dive into fear, fate, and the unexpected, before it's gone forever by the final note.

Wednesday 9pm Show

The Local Strays, Chisa & Zinc, Jan & George, and Chariot

The Local Strays (Cincinnati, OH) The Local Strays is a long form troupe bent on turning genres and themes upside down.

Chisa & Zinc (Burlington, VT) We are a twoprov team that performs a heartfelt, cozy, and silly monoscene.

Jan & George (Toronto, ONT) Jan & George are buddies, but they're NOT COPS! Chaos reigns when friends who trust each other unconditionally build characters, games, and scenes at the speed of funny. "Practically vaudevillian" says Poetry Brothel Toronto, "Always a crowd favorite" says The World's Biggest Improv Tournament. Don't miss this unstoppable comedy duo.

Chariot (Chicago, IL) Chariot is an iO House Team formed in January 2026. Coming from various backgrounds, the group works with coach Mary Catherine Curren to refine their Harold & longform skills while utilizing their zany chemistry to create playful and strong sets.

11 Non-Blondes (Ann Arbor, MI) 11 Non-Blondes is the Friday night house team at hear.say brewing + theater in Ann Arbor, bringing high-energy improv in short-, mid-, and long-form styles. Friday 9pm Show

She Knows She Knows, The Brothers Jacokes, War Candy, and SAND

She Knows, She Knows (Ferndale, MI) Our longform shows blend grounded storytelling with unpredictable turns, driven by sharp instincts and built from a single suggestion—equal parts smart, surprising, and unhinged, with tightly woven threads throughout.

Brothers Jacokes (Ferndale, MI) The Brothers Jacokes were forged in the fires of Farmington. Sculpted from the stone of The Second City. Born from the...um...birth of...when two people love each other very much....We're thrilled to be back at DIF! Good night!

War Candy (Cincinnati, OH) We've been performing together for the better part of a decade and are Improv Cincinnati's oldest house team.

SAND (Chicago, IL) Sand has been one of the best improvisational groups in Chicago since 2009!  Named “Chicago’s Best Improv Team” by NewCity, ‘Sand’ is Mike Brunlieb (HBO’s South Side, Comedy Central’s Joe Pera Talks With You, and Netflix’s Trial of the Chicago 7) and Thomas Kelly (Showtime’s Work in Progress, NBC’s Shrink, Chicago Med, and the feature film, Monuments). Forever 15 (Detroit, MI) Forever Fifteen is an improv duo featuring Joe Hingelberg & Travis Pelto of Ferndale, MI. After meeting in their high school improv club at the age of 15, the two went on to perform for over 20 years in various improv and sketch comedy shows across Metro Detroit. Recently the two worked with local improvisor Shawn Golden to create an animated sketch comedy show, Big Big Baby and then worked with Adult Swim Smalls to create GLEN.

Blackground (Atlanta, GA) From Dad’s Garage in Atlanta, GA, BlackGround is an all-African-American comedy troupe of hilarious performers, amazing guests, killer comedy, and a fun-filled celebration of Blackness!
